If you are ever driving north on CA.680 around Pleasanton take the Sunol Blvd. exit and watch for the Oak Tree shopping center on your right. Jim's is a great home style restaurant that serves breakfast (all day) and lunch until 3:00 pm seven days a week. Just one thing, you better be hungry as the servings are big!! I highly recommend.
Good food, but small place and super crowded.
Great food, excellent service. Portions are very large, enough for two to share
Nice breakfast choices with pleasant prompt service. Reasonable prices.
Good Chicken Fried steak and these awesome thick potatoes, biscuits with amazing meaty gravy and your standard issue eggs. It was all good. Will go again.
Jimmy Omelette, if you can handle it.** Out of control proportions, you'll likely get multiple meals. Country diner at its finest. Super friendly staff and the heartiest of meals no matter what you order. You will not leave hungry; strong delicious diner fare.
Food has always tasted great and I recently cut out carbs out my diet and on this visit I was fine with paying the regular amount but the server recommended a different side that could fit in with my diet to go with my meal and checked in on me regularly.
Incredibly good. The steak & eggs was perfect & I loved my Swiss cheese omelet. The most delicious ranch potatoes, we were amazed at the portion, more amazed I couldn't eat them all. Red was the perfect server as was all the staff. Thanks!
Jim's is usually pretty good. We had very good sandwiches (BLT & Turkey with Avocado). Another member of our party had tortilla soup, which she liked very much. The only thing that was sub-par was the potato salad served with the sandwiches. It tasted like it had been in the refrigerator for a few days. Not sure what the issue was, but it tasted "off." (If you order a sandwich, opt for the fries instead.) Other than that, it was a good lunch, at a decent price.
Relaxed, Southern-style, comfort food. Awesome 3-egg omelette with chicken, avocado, mushrooms and spinach. Large portions, prompt service, and caring staff. My waitress Byrdie was very friendly and attentive and checked on me routinely without being invasive. Hope to return!
Staff is pleasant, service is pretty fast--even on weekends. Food is very good.
Best breakfast in Pleasanton. Try their absolutely enormous omletes!
Took off a star because they don't have waffles. What kind of breakfast place doesn't have waffles? The staff is awesome, the portions are big and the service is fast. Great place.
I love all the options very family friendly, my family always goes after the P.P.I.E run.
My husband and I were stuck on 680 due to some accident and we were both starving after having taken a red eye flight. We looked up what was near by and found Jim's. My husband loved the thick cut bacon that came with his eggs and pancakes. The pancake themselves were huge and fluffy. Both our eggs were cooked perfectly. Overall it was a great little diner. Friendly staff, good food, good coffee.
I am a 12 year old who comes here every other week, I bike down here and get breakfast. It is super yummy, they serve you (if you are a group of 1-2) almost instantaneously! Finally the people are so nice to me unlike other places. Please come here if you like breakfast done right. I have never had any other meal here but this is great! Hey sorry I have to eat! Breakfast is here in the time it took me to write this.
This place is great. It does get busy during peak hours, so keep that in mind. This is definitely a local favorite.
The staff here always take good care of their customers. I've never had a bad experience. The food is good and you can fix it up just the way you like. The omelets and French Toast are my favorites.
Nice breakfast and lunch spot! Welcomes us with greetings and smiles! It's a Pleasanton thing! Great Prices Awesome waitresses and fast cooking! FOOD ALWAYS SERVED HOT!
Food there has always been delicious. I recommend their ranch potatoes over hash browns. Staff is always courteous and very friendly.
Fantastic, food is very good. Love their breakfast. Outside dining is great.
One of the best breakfast places I've ever been to. Service is excellent and the food is super super good!
Good food, great staff with decent ambiance and decorations. One of the long time local breakfast, lunch dinners.
Excellent American breakfast and great service. Thank you
Last time I was here, loved it but forgot the name and where it is. Luckily today I turned on the right street and once again discovered it again. Great place for breakfast and I'm sure lunch also.
Good food, great family atmosphereWestern country cooking mingled with hardworking staff and good breakfast and lunch choices
Get the Chili with cheese & onions..... delish. And the wait help is awesome
Gravy was rich and paired well with chicken fried steak! Eggs were done perfectly and hash browns tasty and not oily.
The only thing better than the food is....., the service. The servers look so young and beautiful that you'ld never guess that half of them are grandmothers. Incredible ⚘
Good food and good people
Good food. Friendly staff. The place is clean and so are the bathrooms. Will definitely be back.
Good Omelettes, friendly service.They have a 1lbs burger 😮
Awesome great experience so glad they are close to where we are staying.
Cool little funky place, full of locals, staff was wonderfully friendly. Food was excellant and large portions. Menu was reasonably priced. Overall experience 5 stars.
Great breakfast. The staff want out of their way to accommodate our wheelchair bound member. Highly recommended.
Very good and very big breakfast! Excellent service too. Avocados and tomatoes in the omelette were very good ripeness. Hash browns were done crispy just like I asked. I was offered and accepted a nice spicy salsa. I will definitely be back.
Great food 👌 great service 👍
Always 5 stars here for the wonderful menu with so many choices! Food is fresh and ample. Only reason it gets 4 stars is the lack of gluten free options. Service is good and food served promptly.
Great biscuits and gray, pancakes, coffee, everything. Friendly and efficient staff
Jim’s is the place for a delicious country style breakfast. The pancakes here are my personal favorite- spongy and delicious. Ranch potatoes are golden fried goodness. Omelettes are huge, so I recommend sharing. Portions are very generous for the prices. The wait staff talk to me like my mama does- all honey and baby. The space is definitely lived-in, but it’s always clean and comfortable.
If you want a whole lot of delicious food for a great price, this is your spot. I am super picky about my bacon and I was so happy with how crispy and perfectly cooked theirs is! Definitely come hungry and don't be surprised if you're leaving with leftovers!
Absolutely great place. Been here many times and never had a complaint. Staff is friendly and accommodating. Thank you Red for being very attentive and amazing on my latest visit today.
Great diner food. Prices are reasonable and service was very attentive. The decor looks like Grandma’s living room - friendly yet old, but a certain comfortable charm that says “no one will judge you for eating a 1000 calorie omelette here.” The patrons all appear to be families and farmers. Very cute and charming place!
Jim's restaurant was a nice little place to have breakfast. Food was pretty good and the staff was very attentive. If I lived in the area I could easily see Jim's place being a regular spot for breakfast!
Stopped by with a big group on a Saturday and they were very accommodating of us - giving us a big table in their ballroom, and offering us a place outside if we wanted it the next time we came. Nicely prepared sandwiches and sweet people serving.
I've been eating at Jim's for many years, food is great as well as atmosphere. Highly recommend.fun eating.🥞🥪🥗
Great fast service, and the food comes out hot almost instantly, very old school look to the place
Great little breakfast place. Busy on the weekends but worth the wait!
Friendly staff, good quality, slightly less expensive than competing breakfast+lunch restaurants. But also not as fancy. Corner cafe decor, dated but pleasant, not dark. Had ham steak & eggs w hash browns and toast. Entree solid, but extras kinda low end. Strawberry jelly packets and coffee on the weak side to name two.
What a cute place. Very country home. First time here, went with friends who had been there before. We had a party of 5 and the restaurant accommodated us by putting a 5th chair at the end of the booth/table. They told me that the food is normally very quick; this time it happened to feel quite a bit longer than usual. Service was friendly, food was great. I'd go back again.
